Wages up, workers down

While wages are increasing for California farm laborers, the number of workers is declining. Arnulfo Solorio claims that this is due to the Trump administration. The new president has dedicated himself to deporting illegal immigrants in the nation. Most of the physical workers in California are immigrants desperate for work. Americans just don’t want to do the hands-on work. And more than half of those immigrants are undocumented. By increasing the wages for the workers, the owner’s profit decreases, even when there are a lot of benefits provided for his employees. With the numbers down on workers, farmers are getting paid less than half the average of other people living in California. So I pose this question, why won’t American’s take the blue-collar jobs? How can we maintain steadily increasing workforce, without the dynamic changes? How can we help the farmers, laborers, and the nations economy?
