In the article “The Country Needs a Graceful Loser in this Election: The Future of American Democracy Depends on it,” LA Times journalist explains why the reaction of the loser to the election is so important. The loser of this tense campaign needs to support the elected president and unite his or her party with the other in order to succeed in any aspect of our country. If one party is unable to accept defeat, we can’t call ourselves the United States of America. He unites this idea with the tense election between Al Gore and George W. Bush. We need to take note; they might determine the future of democracy in this nation.
